Gumbo Cook-Off

Event Description
The Crowley Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us for the eighth annual Rice Capital Championship Gumbo Cook-Off. The festivities will be held on the Enterprise Center Grounds in Historic Downtown Crowley.
To become a challenger, you must agree to cook your gumbo using a butane burner and your own roux made from scratch on-site. Teams will compete in seafood and non-seafood categories, vying for the title of GUMBO CHAMPION for 2011! Team fees are $75 for any participating business and $25 for non-profit organizations.
The event is open to the public throughout the day, with delicious hot gumbo ready at 12:00pm. A $5 gate fee will allow entrants to sample an unlimited amount of gumbos. We also hope you will add to the event by decorating your booth. Live music will begin at 12:00pm and will continue through the afternoon. Other events and attractions are planned for the day.
